We have launched an exciting new educational program called "Understanding Fibromyalgia." The program will feature free educational presentations for people who live with chronic pain, including fibromyalgia. The educational events will take place in five cities and the first will occur this fall in Pittsburgh, PA.
The educational events feature Penney Cowan, ACPA Founder and Executive Director, who will share information about fibromyalgia/chronic widespread pain, and tips on how to cope with the condition and talk with your health care provider.
The presentations will take place in the following cities:
Portland, Oregon
Postponed until January 2010
Saturday November 14, 2009
10 am – 12 pm
Mt. Scott Community Center
5530 SE 72nd Avenue
Portland, OR 97206
If you live in these cities or nearby areas, we hope you will consider attending these informative educational events.
In addition to the educational presentations at the events, the ACPA has created a new tool called the "Fibro Log" for people with fibromyalgia to share with their health care providers, to be used as a discussion tool. The tool is an easy-to-use form that lets you track your everyday activities and how you are feeling in an effort to help you and your health care provider better understand how different activities and circumstances may affect your pain. We encourage you to download the tool and try it. You may be surprised at what you learn.
