Each year in the last week of July, Chronic Pain Australia, the national voice of people living with chronic pain organizes National Pain Week to champion the needs of the many Australians living with chronic pain. The 2020 theme was ‘Faces of Pain’ – a video series from a number of different Australians living with various chronic pain conditions sharing their personal insights and challenges. The Faces of Pain video series was designed to show people living with chronic pain that they are not alone and to showcase what life is like living with chronic pain to help break down the stigma associated with it. The videos aimed to not only educate the wider public about chronic pain but are designed to show medical professionals what people in the pain community need from them. They also collected over 20 written Faces of Pain stories from a range of Australians living with chronic pain across Australia and conducted a national survey on pain. You can download the survey results below.
